 vol.1 &Vol. 2, These English edition is available, but they are not exact same as Japanese edition. So why don't you get them in this chance, even if you have both volumes?

Shinku Chitai The Isolated Zone ４

It's been 2 months since vol.3 was published. I finished the lettering (and done some extra pages) at last of vol.4 and compiled the file at last.

Shinku Chitai : The Isolated Zone vol.4 (Japanese) is available on Amazon now.

Then, because a new book has been released, I'll have a free book campaign as usual. In this time, The Isolated Zone (Japanese) vol.1 and vol.2 (not vol.3) If you are waiting for vol.3's free campaign - sorry, it will be when vol.5 is published. It's from 26th to 30th. 

　　　　　

At the moment, The Isolated Zone Japanese e-book is KDP version only, but the series will be released from some Japanese publisher. After that, I can't keep this low price (100JPY, about 1$) and I can't have any free campaign,  so if you are interested in, hurry up. ;) 

About the English edition, it's stopped for a while, but I had got the dialogue translation vol.2 and 3 recently and sent back the doc.files with my comment. There are still many things to be done before the release, but it's started finally, at least. ^_^

The Isolated Zone (Shinku Chitai) 2

It's released yesterday on Amazon.

The Isolated Zone :Shinku Chitai 2 (Japanese Edition) I thought it would be after the English edition, but the work has stopped since mid October... -.-;

So,. the free campaign of The Isolated Zone: Shinku Citai vol.1 will start from tomorrow (17th) for 5 days. As I've written many times in this blog,, the quality is very good, compare with English version because of the high resolution. I hope you DL the book during this campaign. :)

A new project of Coffee Party Book 2

Coffee Party is a group by Nao Yazawa and Saeko Doile, and manga-comic In Search of Lost Coffee is our series.

The second book was released on 20th Oct, Kaigai Manga Fest 2013(International comic fest). The project of the e-book version has started, and to make it more "International", I'd like to ask your contribution like the last time, In Search of Lost Coffee vol.1.(We get many illustrations of main characters, on the first volume of this series)

The format of this time is...
4koma/8koma or 1page comic strip(with some panels or no panel, both are OK) using the characters, Croissant, Eclair, and Dango kun. You can use them all, 2 of them, or just only one. It's your choice.

The reading direction is from left to right, in Western style.

2 page each. The first page should have your name on it, and other information which you'd like to add - such as your contact, introduction, comment, for instance.(in English)

The file size = 2050 X 1450 pixel

Color(RGB)/Black and white(grey) Either one will be fine

The deadline will be 15 Jan. 2014 (I'm sorry for the short notice!)

A problem of Cintiq 24HD

With this, I'm making kindle file of Shinku Chitai: The Isolated Zone Japanese edition.

The Amazon's App., Kindle Comic Creator also makes me panic a bit.

Uploaded the file I made to Amazon, then it rejected because the file was too heavy. It should be under 50MB. :/

I reduced the pixels from 1280 to 800 and succeeded.

But I found a gap in a center of a drawing on 2pages - because I didn't change the pixel setting of KCC.

I fixed the flaw, tried again. After uploaded the file, I found the book missed 10 pages for some reason. Seems something happened when I copied it's Manga Studio file for the kindle edition.

I added the 10 pages then made the file then the size was over the limit because of the adding.

Anyway, the book has been uploaded now, it's OK I think (hope). Shinku Chitai ; The Isolated Zone KDP edition (Japanese) will be released within this month.

Vol.2 will be also out in December, ahead of English edition. Although the English version is ongoing, the progress is very slow. I don't think we can make it within this year...sigh.

A Free Kindle campaign from 25 Oct.

It's about Moon and Blood 4 Japanese edition. It's not attractive so much for people who don't read Japanese , but I hope you DL it and enjoy the high resolution images.(I say I'm not satisfied with this level very much, but I think it is acceptable)

And if you read Japanese, it must be in interesting read. It has some extra pages for this KDP edition.

 And one more book.
I've just uploaded "Go Go Nao-p! 2". Sorry again, it's Japanese edition, not English. Because of the contents of the first volume, there are not enough 4koma for English edition. I've regretted now that I didn't compile the both edition in the same way. (I eliminated some 4koma, because they were difficult to translate) I'll release the English version, in several month later.

Manga locarization and SNS

The Translation of Moon&Blood

It's not surprise because many of my FB friends are manga/anime fan or people who works for the industry and they are from West. Translation matter is a big issue, obviously. (it should be)

People has shared the problem I pointed out on the blog, it encouraged me, I'm not a strange one!:)

One more a good thing - I got a message from a guy who is working on M&Bvol.1 Italian version right now. He said he would like to take Japanese for their translation work if I wanted. We are　FB friends. 

Because of the internet, I can work with American publisher like DMP. Thanks to SNS, I got the Italian team directly now. It is nice sometimes, you have your publisher between you and the third publisher, it could work as - a kind of - cushioning, and help you to avoid any troubles. But, at the same time, it can cause a communication problem. I've had it several times - I wondered if they (the third publisher) had been OK with it, because I wasn't satisfied. It turned up they also were not satisfied at all, when got a chance to talk with them directly, much later. 

Usually, you have no information abut the process, only the result you are informed.  

It was nice that I've known what Italian team is thinking, exchange the opinion directly. I've just had similar problem recently, on our Coffee Party's ebook.

The product team made the book file in the wrong way. The book was made in Comic-style, left to right, but they made it right to left, like Manga book. They didn't realize the mistake, I guess because the product team did only what they were supposed to do  - put the images in order as they got. If only you read the finished e-book, you couldn't miss the error, but nobody realized it, until I pointed it and ask the modification. (and the spread 2 pages order was wrong, too. I had to asked to correction again) People has their working field, and not more. 

In that case - it is very nice if you can communicate directly people who are working on your book. You get the information where the problem is, and where you are now.

It means we need a new book, and I finally have started the project now.(Late, so late)

It's over - the result is 8DL from US. It's the same as the last time. Not so many, think about the first time (Moon and Blood 1). It got 30 DL. mmm...

On Amazon.JP, it's also not so many DL like the last 2 times, because - AmazonJp has started to distribute some popular titles for promortion. Not entire volume of course, but you can get some popular titles from Amazon JP, and they are free. The image quality is good, too. Why don't you try them?

Free manga - Moon&Blood 3 Kindle edition (JP)

I've just released Moon and Blood vol.4 Japanese edition, so I've started the free campaign of Moon and Blood vol.3 as usual. It can be read with Kindle, Kindle fire, Kindle for iPhone/iPad, Kindle for Android. 

The free campaign is from today (16th  0:00) - 20th 23:59 Aug., Pacific Standard Time

 If you've read Moon and Blood English version(e-book) already, you'll find more fine and crispy images in this edition. (The resolution is about 1280X900)

 If you'd not try the series yet, you can look the manga. Then if you were interested in this series, - buy and read English edition.  :)

If you read Japanese - you enjoy reading this free manga, and more - It has some omake(extra), the first drafts of the main characters' profile (the one I showed my editor) in this time. I think it would be interesting reading, especially if you write/draw manga.

In this volume, I added the plot ideas I showed to DMP's editor as Omake(extra). There are 3 pattern plots of entire series and 2 suggestions of the ending. None of them fit in the actual  Moon and Blood story, but you can find some elements fro,m them. If you've created any stories, it would be interesting to read. And ut also has funny 4koma for Dojinshi edition. ;)

The mystery of Kindle English edtition

I've just downloaded the sample of Moon and Blood 4 kindle edition from Amazon.

Then...I found the book started from the last page. I mean...

"The kindle edition of Moon and Blood vol.4 has to be read from the end of the book to the beginning or it doesn't make any sense." '(a review from Amazon.com, Moon and Blood 4)

I was surprised because Moon and Blood 3 which I bought for a while ago was different. It's started from the first page of the book., I read it in ordinary way.

Because this new style is "reversed one", so the page goes right to left different way of other kindle books, like Mizuki, The Isolated Zone. In these manga (and old version of Moon and Blood) , the page goes left to right, but you should read it right to left, in the opposite direction of English style. It could be confusing sometimes - this might be a good thing.

But - in this case, when you DL the sample, it means you got the last few pages. Mmmmm - is it nice?

And one more thing what I can't miss is - the images are weird.　The aspect ratio is wrong, they are vertically too long. :/　Awwwww.

It is not bad the image become bigger, but the drawing isn't shown correctly. 

I've asked if the image, the resolution can be get lager once, because I wasn't impressed the image quality of my kindle books from DMP. They said they can, I was pleased!

I wonder there was something wrong when they changed the date to high resolution. ???

I e-mailed DMP and asked again, if they can fix it.

As long as I know - nobody has complained about this too long images. Why? The readers don't realize this? Actually, I didn't know it until one Japanese reader let me know, who bought this English version (he said because he couldn't wait until the release of the Japanese edition, btw. Wow! ^_^)

If it happened in Japan, many readers pointed out the fact. Or people have done, just I've not noticed ...? Kindle edition has many mystery, but this is also a big mystery to me. Western readers read manga in different way from Japanese reader...?

The biggest problem I have to e-books is the bleary image. The file can't be too large for DL/viewing , so the images have to be compressed, become in low quality. That is one of the reason I offered free Japanese edition of MB series. For people who bought English edition - having high quality book would be nice. If it was me, I'm sure I never miss the opportunity. 

But it isn't a very big issue for English readers, it seems...

This time, nevertheless it is Japanese book, some people DL Moon and Blood 2. Not so many - 8 in US, 5 in De, 1 in UK.

Next campaign will be about one month later, when Mooon & Blood 4 Japanese edition is released. If you are learning Japanese, it would be nice that you have both English and Japanese edition - in free.Right? and it has some extra pages.

After that, I'd like to start Shinku Chitai (The Isolated Zone), Japanese edition could be faster than English, you know! ^^; I'm going to split it 2 part, "part1 and part 2" with high resolution. 

There is a on-line publisher(in Japan) which is interested in, so I'm not sure if I can publish the series from KDP, but I wish I distribute it in Kindle edition - for reading device, to the world.(and low price/high quality, for people who buy the English version) 

You can't buy the book if the site is "Japanese only".  

Let's see how it goes...

Free Book Campaign Day 3

This is the third Free Promotion Campaign/KDP, Go Go Nao-p!, Nozomi, Moon and Blood Vol.1
The last time, 30 people DL Moon&Blood 1 Japanese edition, but there is only 4 people who done it so far. -.-;

I hope that people who bought the English version DL it, because of the image quality. They payed for English version, you can't say the resolution of images is not excellent. If I were the reader, I would complain about it. I wonder - American readers don't care the quality of the images ...?

Vol.2 has no special pages, but I added something to Vol.3. Characters' design drawings and their setting ideas. There are some untaken ideas, such as Nastuki no-glasses version.  I picked them up from the drawings/words I sent to the editor of DMP. If you read Japanese, it must be interesting reading, I think. :)
